by Benoit Chauveau
Historically, my family already owned vineyards since the 19th century but the activity of mixed farming remained dominant.
When I took over my parents’ vineyards in 1995 and my grandparents’ vineyards in 1997, the Domaine Chauveau became exclusively a wine estate. I dedicate myself to the cultivation of the vine and the wine making. My wife Emmanuelle, who joined me a few years later, manages the administrative and commercial side.
Together, we developed international marketing and expanded the estate until we now have more than 17 hectares, including 15 ha in Pouilly Fumé, Pouilly sur Loire and 2 ha in Coteaux du Giennois. A new cellar was added to the estate for the 2012 harvest.
This year 2021 marks the beginning of a new generation at the domain with the arrival of our daughter, Lise, an agricultural engineer and oenologist.
